About the Item
This sculptural statement piece is one gigantic, excellent quality specimen of Mexican desert rose selenite: a variety of gypsum. Out of Naica near the famous Cave of Crystals, the matte, grainy texture and beige color of this piece come from sand trapped within the crystals which from layers of "petals" in natural rose bud-like arrangements. The largest of these petals measure over three inches wide. Weighs approximately 120 lbs.
