Pair, Grand Tour Neoclassical Bronze & Marble Mounted Blue John Specimen Columns
About the Item
English, 19th century.
An exceptional and rare pair of Grand Tour period Neoclassical columns. Each column has a stepped bronze and white marble plinth and base that is separated by a carved Blue John pedestal which all support a solid Blue John specimen column shaft, a matching bronze and white marble capital and well detailed Egyptian Revival bronze sphinx finials.
Provenance: Originally purchased from - The Neoclassicist - Niall Smith.
