About

A large biomorphic sculpture in jelutong wood, which for decades guarded the entrance to Allegro, artist Jan De Swart's magical house in the hills of Eagle Rock, California. It was photographed by Tim Street-Porter in 1991 for an "Angeles Magazine" feature on the house. This is a magnificent piece with great presence; one which calls out to the viewer regardless of the angle from which it is viewed.
