About

Artist Terry Balle work as an optical sculptor reflects his background in science, art and psychology. He received his doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Illinois, where he studied the interaction of light and matter. After working as a scientist for Bell Labs and Digital Equipment Corporation, he founded a sculpture and design studio in Boston, where he pioneered sculptural techniques using optical materials such as polymer resins as his medium.
