The French bottles were no exception to her admiration for the sophistication and beauty of opaline glass. Margaret immediately pictured how beautiful they would appear in her living room among her other antiques. Margaret invited a large group of her friends over for afternoon tea to flaunt her new possession. As her guests entered the living room, they immediately saw the beautiful opaline glass bottles on the shelf. The intricate detail and the way the light danced through the white, transparent spheres stunned them. Margaret was glowing with pride as she listened to her friends gush about her excellent taste in antiques. Later in the evening, Margaret's friend Sarah stated that she had been looking for a certain present for her mother's birthday. Margaret had a brief pause before settling on the idea of presenting Sarah with the opaline glass bottles as a gift for her mother.
