About the Item
Loosely brushed with cobalt blue pigments, this round blue-and-white storage jar is adorned with a ribbon-tailed bird perched on a cluster of rocks, a symbol for a long and happy life. In combination with the surrounding peony blossoms, emblems of spring and symbols of love, the motif expresses a wish for a lifetime of love, wealth and happiness. Smaller birds and butterflies flit above the lush garden scene, wonderfully contrasting the milky white field.
