A lovely mid-century Bavarian porcelain ginger jar with gold trim and gilt details by Hertel-Jacob Porzellan (German, 1906-1979). This large ginger jar is ornately decorated with a highly detailed romantic figurative landscape scene, in which three men depicted in gold enjoy an opulent picnic of wine, meat, and fruit under a tree, in front of a large medieval castle complete with a canon and canon balls. A gold leaf motif decorates the backside of the piece. The signature "Fuchs-Nadler" can be found within the picnic scene, underneath the tray of food and wine.
Stamped on bottom with mark "Hertel-Jacob Porzelan / Bavaria Germany", and the serial number 1266.
Measures 14"H x 7"D.
**Please note: The top of the lid has been re-attached and a hairline crack in the gold is visible (see photos).

History
Scheurich was founded in 1928 by Alois Scheurich and his cousin Fridolin Greulich as a wholesaler of glass, porcelain and ceramics. In 1938, Scheurich settled in Kleinheubach (70 kilometers southeast of Frankfurt am Main). In 1948, the production of household ceramics began. Scheurich stopped the wholesale activities in 1954 and focused entirely on manufacturing ceramics himself. Initially they mainly made bowl dishes and ashtrays, but they soon switched to vases and flower pots.
Scheurich's hegemony began in the late 1960s.

Giant antique heavy art glass urn/factice/apothecary jar, with cap/topper and metal stand. Beautiful Art Deco decorative statement piece that can be used in a variety of ways; to display herbs and botanicals or scent an entire space. Simply fill the large glass structure with your favorite botanicals or fragrance, and keep the stopper inserted until you are ready to release some fresh fragrance. Lightweight metal stand has a light beige/gold-toned color to the exterior and remains unfinished at the backside. Carved art deco design inclusive of long lines that begin at three separate curved clawfoot style feet and lead upward to distinctive fan pattern details that hold glass urn in place. Metal stand allows for glass urn to have an almost levitating appearance when placed inside. Some pieces are marked/labeled at backside with, "0-1" & "0-2". Glass urn features a curved/rounded design with a wide belly and pointed base. Circumferential groove details at top portion of urn with a heightened neck/mouth for matching stopper.
