Late 19th Century Anglo Indian, massive baluster turned, lignum-vitae pot pourri stand. Circa 1880. Lignum-vitae ( iron wood ) is massively dense and the hardest wood known. It has a striking contrasting figured pattern. These vessels were decorative accents and used to scent areas of the home.
