About the Item

Japanese Meiji Period Bronze Incense Holder / Jardiniere. A substantial incense holder in the Chinese Ming style. Sides and bottom covered in a relief decoration overall., with a warm natural bronze patina. Raised on shaped corner bracket feet with elephant head handles on each side. Bronzes from the Japanese Meiji period often copied Chinese forms.
