Art Nouveau Delphin Massier Majolica Jardinière with pedestal

About the Item

An extremely rare Art Nouveau Porcelain Jardinière with pedestal, polychrome red and golden earthenware with a vegetarian motif. A great example of the elegance of the turn of the Art Nouveau Century. A foundry stamp of “Massier & Vallauris” in the bottom. The Massier are known for the quality of their unique enamels and paintings. The Massier family produced differents pieces with birds in a very creative style in Vallauris on the French Riviera; they excelled in the representation at the end of the 19th century and first half of the 20th Century. A crack in the upper leg. Visible in the photos.
