About the Item

A high quality and large scale French 19th century Chinoiserie st. patinated and verdigris Bronze planter. This beautiful planter is raised on four pierced 'C' scrolled feet connecting the frame decorated with scrolling pierced foliate designs and a mottled upper edge. Supported by the frame is a beautiful Verdigris Bronze finished body that is accented with two tastefully decorated elephant heads on either side which serve as handles. Two richly chased foliate reserves center the top rim of the planter and are joined by a wrap around mottled band. The top rim is decorated with pierced foliate designs and four arbalest decorations along the upper edge. All original patina throughout.
