George IV Coronation Urn by Perrin & Geddes

About the Item

This magnificent cut glass urn stands on a Garter star cut foot, supporting the most unusual, deep scale and swirl cutting design. The corresponding lid unusually mounted with a crown finial, suggesting this was a special Royal commission. Although you do see cut glass crown scent bottles of this period, the urns cover is possibly unique in this form. The same garter shaped foot can be seen on stemware made for the Prince of Wales service by Perrin & Geddes of Warrington 1808.
