Pair of French 19th Century Neoclassical St. Porphyry and Ormolu Lidded Urns

About the Item

A stunning and very high-quality pair of French 19th century neoclassical St. Porphyry and ormolu lidded urns. Each very uniquely shaped and most decorative urn is raised by fine ball feet below the circular supports decorated with elegant wrap-around beaded ormolu bands. The socle-shaped pedestals display superb and most unusual double mottled designs while the bodies above display beautiful bold full shapes with lightly curved rims. Above are the striking pierced ormolu finials with exceptional scrolled foliate designs. All original gilt throughout.
