About the Item
A very fine quality antique Bohemian parcel-gilt emerald green art glass portrait vase attributed to luxury glassware icon, Moser Glassworks (1857-present).
Hand blown and painted in Bohemia (present day Czech Republic) in the late 19th century. The magnificent, beautifully made vase stands on a rounded pedestal base with tapered knob stem supporting a flared form shaped body, with unique scalloped rim edgework, giving the appearance of a jagged, broken glass bottle. The irregular serrated edge gilded gold, with brilliant, enchanting luster.
Featuring rich, highly detailed decorative panel centering hand-painted polychrome figural reserve featuring young Victorian maiden. Richly decorated gilded floral foliate and patterning to the foot, finished in period Art Nouveau taste. Unsigned. Attrib: Moser Glassworks. Circa 1890
