20th Century, Toni Zuccheri Orange Vase from "Tronchi" series, for Venini 70s

About the Item

Toni Zuccheri attended the faculty of architecture in Venice under the guidance of Gardella, Albini, Scarpa and Samonà. He began collaborating with VENINI in the 1960s: his first glass works, following the family tradition, were animals made of polychrome glass with precious techniques, such as "murrine." In 1965 he began to collaborate with Gio Ponti, together with whom he designed a new stained glass system, the "Vetrate Grosse." Later, he expanded his glass production with new colors and subjects, participating in numerous exhibitions around the world. Here we have a Vase in orange glass and crystal from the "Tronchi" Series designed by Toni Zuccheri and produced by Venini in the 1976. The vase is in very good condition and fully original: as you can see in the photo there's presence of the label "Venini Italia".

20th Century Carlo Scarpa Venini Lattimo Vase "a Mezza Filigrana", 50s
By Carlo Scarpa, Venini
Located in Turin, Turin
In 1921 Venini and Cappellin opened a glass factory called Vetri Soffiati Muranesi Cappellin Venini & C. on the islands of Murano, the historic glass production centre in the lagoon of Venice, Italy. With Luigi Ceresa and Emilio Hochs as investors, they arranged to purchase the recently closed Murano glass factory of Andrea Rioda, hire the former firm's glassblowers, and retain Rioda himself to serve as technical director of the venture. Venini embarked on collaborations with architects and designers such as Cini Boeri, Tomaso Buzzi, Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa, Ettore Sottsass, Tapio Wirkkala, Gae Aulenti, and Massimo Vignelli. The ethos was to "take the Murano tradition of glass blowing and combine it with the French fashion industry's tradition of using designers". Here you can see a small lattimo vase "a mezza filigrana" realized by Venini on Carlo Scarpa...
