About the Item

Enameled Art Glass Vase by Adrien Mazoyer (1887-1950), Moulins, France, 1920s. This stunning enameled art glass vase by Adrien Mazoyer features beautifully intricate large daisies, rich in color and detail. The vase showcases the elegance of the Art Deco era, with vibrant floral motifs that are hand-painted in enamels. Signed "A. Mazoyer *" within the pattern (as seen in the photo), this piece exemplifies the artist’s mastery of glass and enamel techniques. Dimensions: Height: 4.7" (12 cm) Diameter: 9.45" (24 cm) Adrien Mazoyer (1887–1950) was a French artist renowned for his porcelain and glass creations. Born in Le Creusot, France, he was introduced to the commercial world of ceramics and glassware by his father, who ran a shop selling earthenware, porcelain, and glass. After studying at the Beaux-Arts and working in Paris, he returned to his hometown in 1919 to take over his family’s business. Mazoyer initially focused on cold painting decorations for lamps and glass shades but soon began experimenting with hot enamel techniques, eventually producing highly regarded vases and cups decorated with stylized floral and geometric patterns. His work was featured at significant exhibitions, including the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris and the 1937 International Exhibition of Arts and Techniques. Mazoyer continued his work throughout the 1920s and 1930s, gaining recognition for his innovative enamel techniques, before ceasing his activities in the early 1940s due to poor health. He passed away in Moulins in 1950.
