An Amazing Set of Eight 1950s Stripe Vases by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta Sweden.

About the Item

Vintage Zebra Art Glass Vases by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta 1950s. A great set of 8 vases in four different colors and in 8 different heights. Made in blue, red, green, and pink colors with clear glass and white stripes. Heights 25cm, 25.5cm, 26cm, 26.5cm, 27cm, 27.3cm, 30.5cm, 32.5cm (9.84in to 12.79in). The vase was designed in the 1950s for Kosta when Vicke Lindstrand returned to his favorite material: handcrafted glass. Signed on the base "LINDSTRAND LH 1054 Kosta". The elegant, flowing simple form is decorated with glass layers and white lines. Vicke Lindstrand (1904 - 1983) is considered one of the pioneers of the Swedish glass art scene. He also showed his feel for contemporary trends as a ceramic artist and painter. He celebrated his first international success at the World Exhibition in Stockholm in 1930. Vicke Lindstrand´s design works were part of the art competitions at the Summer Olympics in 1932 and 1936. He worked as a trend-setting designer for Orrefors and Kosta. In his final decade, Vicke Lindstrand worked together with Hanne Dreutler and Arthur Zirrnsack at Studio Glashyttan in Åhus.
