Michael Andersen has been delivering sublime Danish design and ceramics since 1890 with dedicated collectors all over the world from New York to Tokyo.
Daniel Folkmann Andersen (born 25 November 1885 in Rønne on Bornholm, died 30 April 1959 in Copenhagen) was a Danish composer, sculptor and ceramicist. He was educated in Vienna and settled in 1930 in Rønne on Bornholm. He composed songs, a mass and the opera Madonnas Ansigt (1935).
Michael Andersen (1859-1931) was trained as a ceramicist with Lauritz Hjorth in Rønne on Bornholm. Michael Andersen took over in 1890 Th. Stibolt's ceramic company in Rønne and continued it in his own name. The ceramic company can be dated all the way back to 1771.
In 1935, Michael Andersen wins a distinguished gold medal at the World Exhibition in Brussels (Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Bruxelles) for his glaze, and is then rightly referred to as the master of glaze.
