This exceptional Italian Art Deco vase dates to the 1930s and was produced by the distinguished Fantinelli workshop in Faenza. Measuring 35 cm high with a 25 cm diameter body and base, its elegant silhouette features a broad, nearly spherical form that tapers gracefully into a slender neck and gently flared rim.
Crafted from fine ceramic, the surface is cloaked in a luminous iridescent lustre glaze that shimmers in pearlescent pinks, soft aquas, sage greens, and antique-gold highlights. A richly modeled relief of stylized, undulating waves wraps the midsection, catching light to create dynamic shadows and tactile depth. Toward the foot, the glaze shifts to a warm, matte cinnamon tone, before returning to cooler metallic hues at the base.
Hand-made and hand-glazed, this vase retains the original “Fantinelli – Faenza” impressed mark on the underside. A superb example of 1930s Italian Art Deco ceramics, it marries sculptural form with refined decorative artistry—perfect as a standout showpiece or as part of a sophisticated collector’s display.
