About the Item

An Art Nouveau pair of faience vases in green ceramic with floral barbotine reliefs. The interiors are finished in a striking bluish glaze that contrasts elegantly with the naturalistic floral motifs in pink and yellow. Crafted by the renowned Boulenger Céramique de Choisy-le-Roi, these pieces bear the embossed “B FRANCE 50-2” mark, a hallmark of authenticity from the Paul Boulenger era. Production of this iconic French faience ceased in 1938, making these pieces a rare find for collectors and interior designers alike. Barbotine, known for its richly colored raised decoration, directly influenced Portuguese ceramic traditions such as the celebrated Bordallo Pinheiro style. The fusion of texture and color in this set exemplifies the artistic peak of French decorative arts before WWII. Ideal for maximalist interiors, Art Nouveau schemes, or any classy space that needs a beautifully detailed focal point. These pieces also layers rich texture into any decor. Dimensions: Vases (each): H 8.26 in (21 cm) × Ø 6.69 in (17 cm) Take into account that the colors on the items may vary depending on the type of lighting and the type of screen from which you see the images. We have a matching cachepot that can be added to this set. Please check our listings.
