Dimensions : Top : D : 7 cm Base : D : 9.5 cm H: 30 cm François-Théodore Legras His childhood spent in a very small hamlet, surrounded by nature, in the heart of the Darney forest , one of the most beautiful forests in France, probably had an impact on him and would become a source of inspiration for his creations focused on wildlife. , the flora and especially the landscapes of forests and lakes which punctuate the Ourche valley . At the age of 20, he worked as a clerk in glassworks near his native hamlet. This is where he learned his trade. The Legras factory in Saint-Denis At the age of 24, he left his native Vosges to work at the glassworks in La Plaine Saint-Denis , a district of the town of Saint Denis near Paris, where he was hired as a clerk. Six months later, he became head of manufacturing and in 1866, aged 27, he became director of the glassworks. He then built a new modern factory and a workers' town which over the years became an industrial complex of nearly 20,000 square meters. He became CEO of Legras et Cie, then of Verrerie et Cristallerie de Saint-Denis. In 1909, he handed over management of his company to his nephew Charles Legras . From 1914, production changed style and was inspired by Art Deco , with a return to simple lines and a certain sobriety. Legras production will be effective until 1928.

Art Nouveau Asymmetrical Vase by Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat
By Pierre-Adrien Dalpayrat
Located in Chicago, US
Much fuss is made about Dalpayrat’s signature red, but what many have not realized is that “Dalpayrat Red” refers not simply to a vivid red color glaze but just as often to a nuanced appearance of color resulting from the artist’s technical expertise navigating a complex play of minerals and various firing temperatures. Mossy greens, amber and chestnut tones dance together over Dalpayrat’s blood red base. The result is just as surprisingly modern as the geometric planes forming this asymmetrical vase...
