Bacchanalian Patinated and Gilt Bronze Vase

About the Item

Our centerpiece vase, attributed to Ferdinand Barbedienne, circa 1870s, features an expressive mask of Bacchus surrounded by silvered grapevines, prominent gilt bronze handles with acanthus leaf and bellflower motifs, and gilt bronze mounts at the rim, waist and base. Apparently unsigned.
