About the Item

Ceramic cachepot vase by Galvani Pordenone, air-printed, made in the 1940s Ø cm 18 h cm 20 Ceramiche Galvani was a historic Italian ceramic manufacturer based in Pordenone, Veneto. Founded in 1825 by Andrea Galvani, the factory produces a wide range of ceramics, including tableware, decorative objects and tiles. Galvani ceramics were renowned for their high quality, their refined design and their meticulous workmanship. The factory enjoyed great success during the 19th and 20th centuries, exporting its products all over the world. However, in the 1970s the company faced a series of financial difficulties which led to its closure in 1984. Today, Galvani ceramics are highly sought after by collectors. They are thoughtful works of art and represent an important piece of Italian ceramic history. Tableware: Ceramiche Galvani produced a wide range of tableware, including plates, cups, bowls and glasses. Tableware was often decorated with floral, geometric or landscape motifs. Decorative Objects: The factory also produced a variety of decorative objects, such as vases, sculptures and ornaments. These objects were often decorated with mythological figures, historical scenes or naturalistic motifs. Tiles: Ceramiche Galvani also produces tiles for floors and walls. The tiles were often decorated with geometric or floral motifs.
