Candy Apple Red and Cream Decorative Ceramic by Masuo Ojima

Candy apple red and cream decorative ceramic by Masuo Ojima. Top is recessed and has a small hole not usable as a vessel as it would not be possible to clean, but may have been intended as a stick incense holder and makes for a striking decorative piece. Top surface measures 3.0" in diameter but its widest point the piece is 18.5" in circumference. Masuo Ojima is from the Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan and comes from a family of craftsman and his work has been showcased at the Smithsonian as well as the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, Italy. Signed by the artist.
