Carmelina Street Vendor of Prickly Pears Head Vase
About the Item
Part of an exquisite series of fully handcrafted vases paying homage to the characteristic folklore of Sicilian street vendors, this one-off ceramic vase glazed in matt white is an ironic anthropomorphic reproduction of Carmelina, a female seller of prickly pears. Lips and ears are accented in vibrant red, while the nose matches the head and appears surmounted by a lush crown of green prickly pear leaves. Safe for outdoor and indoor use, alike.
