Carved Brass Vase with Elephant Handles, Early - Mid 20th Century
About the Item
An elegant brass vase, hand-crafted in Japan, Early to Mid 20th Century. Finished in dark brown with a mottled patina, probably achieved through a technique like Murashido.
The body of the vase is delicately carved with traditional designs. Both sides have handles shaped in the form of a stylized elephant head, which in the Chinese tradition symbolizes wisdom and good fortune.
Inscribed at the bottom.
