Doulton Lambeth Pair Art Nouveau Vases by Ethel Beard & Florrie Jones

About the Item

A delightful and stylish pair Art Nouveau Doulton Lambeth twin handled vases with stylized floral designs by artists Ethel Beard and Florrie Jones and dating from around 1905. The stoneware vases stand raised on a narrow round foot with round bulbous bodies with slightly everted funnel necks with looped handles applied to either side. The bodies of the vases are decorated with raised stylized floral designs set against a star shaped incised ground set within raised beaded borders against geometric patterning. The vases are hand decorated in tones of brown and blue with white beading and both have impressed makers marks one with an incised monogram for Ethel Beard and the other with monogram for Florrie Jones and both with assistant marks for Minnie Forster with other unidentified marks. One vase is also numbered 8544. Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art Market. In good condition with light wear associated with age and use.
