Extremely Rare Dragon Vase Scheurich West Germany Fat Lava 517-38
About the Item
Extremely rare fat lava dragon vase, West Germany pottery, by Scheurich in the 1960s, numbered 517-38 at the bottom.
The vase has an orange and red colored dragon on a blue and black fat lava drip glaze background, the outline of the dragon is matt, a very rare decor, a must have for every serious collector of West Germany ceramics!
Scheurich Keramik is known for its different decors of the 517-38 vase, there are riders, horses, fish, deer, chariots, elk, bulls, roosters and also this extremely rare dragon, beautiful object that stands its ground in a vintage or modern interior!
West-Germany was actually a collective name for ceramics that came on the market roughly between 1950 and 1990. Some well-known names are Roth, Carstens, Ruscha, Jopeko, Jasba, Fohr, but the greatest were probably Scheurich and Bay.
The vase is in perfect condition, no cracks, breaks or chips, check the photos for more details!
