French Marielle Sirtelet for Kostka Longwy Enameled Vase "Eruption", 11/50 Offered for sale is a French Faïenceries et Emaux de Longwy vase titled "Eruption" by Marielle Sirtelet numbered 11 from an edition of 50 c1990. The large vase is nicely and completely marked on the underside of the base as shown. The French town of Longwy, in the region of Lorraine near the Belgian border, is home to a unique tradition of laying enameled colors on top of ceramic vessels. Only a handful of ceramicists carry on the particular tradition of Longwy enamels today.
