Roland Brice (1911 - 1989) , Biot, South of France. 1
Roland Brice is known for having been inspired by Fernand Léger. He was his ceramist as well as his friend.
After studies at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, he attended from 1936 Fernand Léger's lecture at the Académie d'Art Moderne de Montrouge.
Between 1950 and 1955, they worked together
The musée Fernand Léger in Biot organised in 2000 a exhibition on the work of this period.
Roland Brice also worked together with his son Claude Brice with Jean Dubuffet and Georges Braque,
After Léger's death, Roland Brice's workshop was commissioned to create a sculpture and 2 terracotta bas-reliefs.
After his artistic collaboration with Léger, and still inspired by the artist, Roland Brice produced his own colorful creations, mostly tableware.
