An elegant example of mid-century Italian ceramics, this gold sgraffito vase was crafted by Fratelli Fanciullacci for Elbee in 1950s Italy.
Its slender conical form rises from a circular base to a square lip, finished in an earthy cream glaze. The surface is intricately hand-etched using the sgraffito technique, revealing contrasting clay beneath and lending rich texture. Gilded bands encircle the vase, creating a refined interplay with the matte striations. A central band of gold floral medallions stands out against a deep brown ground, a signature of 1950s Italian pottery aesthetics.
The base bears the hand-signed mark “FF Italy” and design number 8149, confirming its origin. Measuring 19.5 cm high and 10.5 cm wide, it remains in very good vintage condition, offering a sophisticated accent for collectors of vintage Italian decor.
