Beautiful and a true eye-catching art glass vase, that would enhance any shelf, table or countertop. Hand crafted and gleaming with earth tone colors. Measures: 17 5/8" Hgh x 7 1/2" Diameter Very good vintage condition with no cracks or chips. Baijan glass is high quality hand blown art glass from Azerbaijan. Since each piece is hand blown you will never see two pieces that are exactly the same. This piece is unusual and exotic. The art of blown glass is an old tradition which goes back about 3000 years when the Persian Empire ruled the region. In the late 18th century Azerbaijan fell under the Russian rule and finally in 1989 got its independence and became The Republic of Azerbaijan. The tradition of glass blowing has not changed there since the 18th century and they are still made using the traditional method in brick ovens with black oil. About the artist: Essie Zareh, uses a multilayer color glass with his unusual design and exotic shapes creating a unique collection of glass art. Each color represents one layer of glass and there is no painting. Each piece is an original creation and there may be slight variation in size, pattern and color. Essie Zareh is a professional artist and has been involved in the development of glass art during the past 12 years. Within his profession he is well respected and his art work originates from the ancient Russian style combined with his unique design and technique creating beautiful works of glass art. He has conducted numerous International Trade shows in the USA and Canada. His art pieces can be found in many galleries, museums and showrooms around the world.
