A striking hand-built ceramic vase from a Northern Michigan studio potter, showcasing a bold, sculptural form and organic surface textures. The tall, subtly tapered vessel is crafted with an intentionally irregular square profile and stands on four rustic, kiln-fired block feet that give it a distinctive architectural presence.
The matte cream slip exterior is animated with painterly abstract glaze accents—gestural applications of olive, gray, and black that evoke the motion of birds in flight or leaves carried by the wind. The rim is softly undulating and finished in warm terracotta tones, complementing the earthy clay body beneath. The interior is coated in a deep, contrasting charcoal glaze.
