Hexagon Patterned Vessel in Strawberry Pistachio

About the Item

Hexagon Patterned Vessel in Strawberry Pistachio The Hexagon Patterned Vessel features a beautiful shallow pattern that creates a smooth and flowing profile. Its unique tessellation creates a perfectly balanced shoal surface structure that adds depth and texture. Each piece is carefully slip-cast to receive flawless edges, then hand-glazed and fired in the kiln to create a reactive metamorphosis that brings Hexagon to life. The resulting effect is a stunning interplay between the ceramic body and the glaze, creating a work of art that is both beautiful and meaningful. Strawberry Pistachio starts its life unlike any other clay bodies. White clay is treated using a specially formulated mason stain to transform it into a delicious shade of strawberry red. These gorgeous vases have vibrant colors that are reminiscent of an ice cream sundae on a hot summer’s day. These vases are decorative only and not intended to be used with water. Color and pattern may vary slightly from the image shown. • Unique Pattern Ceramic Vessel, Corinna Petra Friedrich
    By Corinna Friedrich
    Located in New York, NY
The Quilt, 2020 (Ceramic, C. 10 in. h x 8.5 in. w x 8 in. d, Object No.: 3830) The ceramic artist Corinna Petra Friedrich lives and works in Leipzig, Germany, where she studied painting, graphic design and ceramics at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts. The artist creates her inspiring works of art in a reverse technique, first developing the decor, then the form. She prepares the clay by forming slabs, and subsequently applies with screen printing techniques the decor to the surfaces of the slabs, retaining the option of using engobe and monotype. The ceramic slabs she has prepared in this ingenious method are the raw material for her unique vessels. The patchwork of cut-out clay elements with their lively and experimental combination of graphic patterns and colors are assembled to build surprisingly playful vessels and vases.
