Howsons Art Nouveau Pottery Flambe Vase by Edward Wilks Dated 1912
About the Item
A large and unusual Howsons Art Nouveau red flambe art pottery vase designed by Edward Wilks and dated 1912. The tall ceramic vase stands raised on a narrow round foot with a wider round lower body narrowing to a tall funnel shaped neck with a simple round opening. The vase is hand decorated with gold patching on a deep red flambe ground hand is hand marked Howsons to the base and also dated 1912. The vase is also numbered 215 and pieces like this are uncommon.
Provenance: Acquired from the UK Art market.
In good original condition with light wear associated with age and use and with a few tiny glaze nicks around the lower body.
