Important Silver Ewer, Louis XVI style – 19th century

About the Item

Magnificent and very large decorative silver-plated ewer in the Louis XVI style. It is decorated with foliage, interlacing, and scrolls. Numerous vine leaves and bunches of grapes adorn the body of this object, accompanied by numerous pearl garlands. This ewer features a handle depicting a large dolphin, while the spout is shaped like a conch shell. On the front, a baby cherub holds two large garlands of flowers that join the base of the handle decorated with a goat's head. Its brilliance and delicate carvings make this ewer a rare object of beautiful craftsmanship. ******** Period: 19th century Shipping available upon request with careful packaging and appropriate protection.
