Jais Nielsen for Royal Copenhagen Square Vase or Bottle with Bronze Lid, 1957

About the Item

Danish artist Jais Nielsen deigned this slim square stoneware jar or bottle with bronze lid for Royal Copenhagen. The four sides show a decoration of biblical motifs covered with brown and beige Sung glaze. The theme of the four reliefs is "The worship of the kings". The lower part of the lid is patinated dark brown the spherical top is golden. Hand decorated by Royal Copenhagen in 1957 model no. 3543. Height 26 cm Width 10 cm Depth 10 cm Incised Jais for Jais Nielsen + stamped 3 waves for Royal Copenhagen The bottle is a factory first edition and in excellent condition.
