Japanese Mid Century Modern Ceramic Vase
About the Item
Mid Century Japanese Ceramic Vase with a lovely modern design on a traditional form. The decoration is of 6 vertival bands on a dark tan background. Three of the bands have an Art Deco feeling and are painted in white, black, and navy blue with stylized design of waves in gold. The other three are a squiggly design in brick red with a green squiggle and outlined in gold. The inside is white and the rim has a gilt line which is partly gone ( does not detract from the vase beauty). Hand thrown and hand painted.
The bottom is signed (I have been told) Yu Suda and Shiyama.
No damage in Very Good Condition. Minor wear.
Measurements: 6 inches diameter at center x 4 inches diameter top x 7 1/2 inches high
