Late 18th Century Pair of Neoclassical Alabaster Scent Burning Vases

About the Item

Elegant pair of amphora vases with lids born as incense burners. Made with delicate openwork to emanate perfumes, entirely in cooked alabaster, they were boiled to make them whiter. This pair of vases has the rarity of being perfect, without any breakage, which suggests that they were kept under a glass bell throughout the 1800s and 1900s. Tuscan neoclassical manufacture of the late 1700s.
