Longwy French Blue Enamel Starfish Decorated Vase

About the Item

An unusual Longwy enamel decorated vase, in the characteristic colour ‘bleu de Longwy’, and featuring a finely crackled golden starfish splayed over its surface. The Longwy earthenware factory was founded in 1798, and their ceramics became popularised by Napoléon, who visited the site and ordered tableware for his imperial homes.
