Mid-Century Hand Thrown & Glazed Studio Pottery Vase by Görge Hohlt, circa 1970s
About the Item
This stunning, vintage, Mid-Century Modern hand thrown clay vase was made by Görge Hohlt (1930-2022), circa 1970s in the Hohlt Katzbach Werkstatt / Studio. The Katzbach studio was built, together with his brother Albrecht Hohlt and his father Otto Hohlt, between the years 1947-1956 in Rott am Inn, Bavaria, Germany. Beautiful rounded form with a tall, narrow cylindrical neck and colors (colours) of green and light, pale gray (grey) green and glaze. Marked on base with the cat over a river stamp - signifying the Katzbach Studio and the G over H initials marking the work by Gorge Hohlt. A rare and very collectable piece of fine, German made, European studio pottery.
