About the Item
This rare and beautifully rendered Mid-Century Modernist Teal/Smoked Umber Vase w/ Linear Grooved Detailing is by the esteemed company Design Techniques and originates from the United States, Circa 1970. Features a rounded body with a tapered neck expanding outwards as it rises to the mouth of the vase. Incised linear grooves in the ceramic form the designs motifs present in the piece, with organic leaf like designs dancing vertically around the body of the vase, with stacked grooves carefully spaced up the neck of the piece. The hues of the vase organically blend into one another, with a smokey contrast in teal and umber, reminiscent of light peering through a dense forrest or peaking through a serene body of water. Rendered with remarkable artistry and in the highest quality materials, this piece exemplifies the quality of the pieces produced by Design Techniques, which remain highly coveted to this day. Stamped signature on the undersurface of the vase denoting the maker. This vase will style well in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors. In Excellent Vintage Condition.
