Minton Majolica Two Handled Vase on Pedestal

About the Item

Minton Majolica vase which features grapes and vine leaves, two lion head handles and a (fixed) pedestal base. Colouration: turquoise, pink, ochre, are predominant. The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '500'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.

    Generally good. Small flake to base of one handle. KILN EFFECTS: tiny glaze pops to some of the turquoise glaze. RESTORATION. Vase re-attached to base through the foot and joins retouched.
