About the Item
A signed rare brutalist studio production art ceramic vase by Inger Persson for Rörstrand, Sweden. As a studio product it is very rare and has an unusual shape and pattern. As always, her work is simple and clean, yet so effectful, the shape is classic and the pattern on the glazing subtle, the top part consist of a chocolate brown glazed part with a simple pattern, followed by a rough unglazed surface, with simple graphic pattern at the bottom, which make the vase so elegant and sophisticated. It is in a very good condition the price includes free shipping.
It is 17cm high and 14.5cm in diameter at the base, (6.69" and 5.70") NOTE that this is a rather heavy item with 1750g (3.85 lbs).
Rörstrand porcelain was one of the most famous Swedish porcelain manufacturers, with production initially at Karlbergskanalen in Stockholm, Sweden. Formed as a company in 1726, Rörstrand soon became one of Sweden's largest ceramic factories. They have, over the years, manufactured and produced many well-known items and managed to be one of the most famous brands in the world, when it comes to both aesthetically as well as functional ceramic goods. Very much due to some of their famous designers such as Hertha Bengtsson, Gunnar Nylynd, Carl-Harry Stålhane, Marianne Westman, Bertil Wallien, Olle Alberius, Inger Persson and Ulla Procopé. During the 1960s and 70s Stig Lindberg and Lisa Larsson created some timeless art ceramic interior design objects in forms of art objects, figures and vases.
