About the Item

This antique bamboo vase reflects the traditional beauty of Japan. With a diameter of 23cm, a height of 15.4cm, and a weight of just 0.5kg, it's easy to handle and will subtly add color to everyday spaces, such as on a shelf, in an entryway, or in a tokonoma alcove. The flexibility and warmth inherent to bamboo, as well as its time-honored appearance, give this vase its unique charm. While the design is very simple, the beauty of the woven weave and the presence of the powerful bamboo braid at the base create an exquisite harmony. It blends naturally with both antique Japanese spaces and modern interiors. One of the design features of this vase is the bulge in the center of the bottom. This may cause it to tilt when a flat-bottomed container is placed inside, but by inserting a specially cut bamboo tube, it can be placed in the center of the bottom. It can be filled with water and used to arrange fresh flowers. The bamboo tube creates an even more natural atmosphere, enhancing the beauty of seasonal flowers. However, please note that this bamboo tube also bulges in the centre, so when arranging flowers, you should use a flower arranging sponge or flower pin holder. The design, which embodies a uniquely Japanese sensibility, has a distinctive presence not found in Chinese or Korean bamboo crafts. It is a design that seems common but is quite rare, so please take this opportunity to get your hands on one. 【We mainly sell old Japanese items, but also items from around the world.
