"Sarek" vase made by Olle Alberius for Rörstrand, Sweden
Located in Skarpnäck, SE
For this vase Alberius was inspired by the Swedish National Park known as "Sarek". Olle Alberius, was a Swedish designer ceramicist and glass artist and designer. Between the years 1957 - 1965, Olle Alberius worked in Strömstad as a designer at SYCO keramik, where he created a large number of dishes, figurines, vases and bowls. He starts working at Rörstrand, between 1963 and 1965 he was employed at both SYCO keramik and Rörstrand. The vase has a dark brown hand painted glaze with circular geometric patterns and is cylindrical in form. Rörstrand porcelain was one of the most famous Swedish porcelain manufacturers, with production initially at Karlbergskanalen in Stockholm, Sweden. Formed as a company in 1726, Rörstrand soon became the number one of the nation's largest ceramic factories. They have over the years manufactured and produced many well-known items and managed to be one of the most famous brands in the world, when it comes to both esthetically as well as functional ceramics goods. Very much due to some of their famous designers such as Hertha Bengtsson, Gunnar Nylynd, Carl-Harry Stålhane, Marianne Westman, Bertil Wallien, Olle Alberius, Inger Persson and  Ulla Procopé. During the 1960s and 70s Stig Lindberg and Lisa Larsson created some timeless art ceramic interior design objects in forms of art objects, figures and vases, highly appreciated still all over the world, generating them a special status in the lovers of modern Scandinavian design as well as retro and vintage...
