Pair 19th Century Delft Hand-Painted Blue & White Vases

About the Item

Pair 19th century Delft hand-painted blue & white vases are a splendid collectible that was created for the lucrative European market during the latter 1800s, where the clay was treated with a tin solution before glazing resulting in a unique and highly desirable finish that lasts for centuries! Cobalt blue has been hand-painted on each vase in an incredibly intricate pattern to rival the predecessors that inspired it from the far Orient. Beautiful patterns inspired by nature exist all around each vase, so even if the back side is reflected in a mantel mirror, they're still just as beautiful from any angle! The history of the Delft region has been discussed on this site many times, but suffice to say this pair are exceptionally well-preserved and deserve a place of honor in your home! Circa 1880s Each measures 12 height x 7 in diameter.
