Pair of 19th Century Russian Jasper Vases in Louis XVI Style

About the Item

Pair of large, ornamental jasper urns from Russia with ormolu mounts. The handles are formed with scrolling acanthus leaves and they hold in place a piece of loosely tied drapery, which descends on both sides of the paunch. Each vase rests on a circular base that is beautifully sculpted with interlacing. The set is supported by a square plinth decorated with flowers, circa 1850. Dimension: W 11.8 in, D 11.8 in, H 21.7 in. Dimension: L 30 cm, P 30 cm, H 55 cm.
