About the Item
Stunning pair of 19th century Chinese Qing dynasty lacquerware vases or urns featuring foo dog or foo lion decoration. The vases have a baluster form with a large trumpet neck opening. The lacquered bodies are intricately incised and decorated with vibrant blue, white, and red tones outlined in gilt thread. The finish has a desirable aged patina that commensurate age and use. Purchased in Hong Kong in 2000 with original sales receipt from retailer. From an estate in San Francisco, CA. Sold as a pair.
