About the Item
Handblown pair of clear and Amethyst or purple Murano glass vases in the iconic manner of the "Rostrato" glass of the 1940s. Each glass vase was meticulously handblown using the same craftsmanship as the original 1940s version in one of the oldest and last remaining glass furnaces on the island of Murano in clear and deep purple or plum pigment-infused glass with delicately and purposefully pulled glass that form small peaks around each vase. This "Rostrato" method is done as the glass is cooling off. The result is a jewel like form that refracts light in every direction. This pair of vase was hand-made and signed by Stefano Toso (Stefano Toso was born in Venice in 1958 into a centuries old family of glassmakers and entered into the family glass works at an early age, beginning his apprenticeship with his father Berto).

Amazing midcentury mouth-blown rostrato crystal Murano glass vase. This wonderful object was produced during the 1940s in Italy by Ercole Barovier for Barovier & Toso.
This masterpiece is a fantastic tribute to the incredible workmanship of the Rostrato glass will match surprisingly with any floral arrangement and also by itself. The vase is in excellent vintage condition with no nicks or scratches.
Good condition but note a couple of slightly chipped teeth and a crack on the inside not visible from the outside.
